Procilon Strengthens Its Identity Verification Offering Through Acquisition of POS Solutions

Pressemitteilung – 22 August 2025

Düsseldorf, August 22, 2025 – Procilon, a specialized provider of secure communication solutions—particularly for public authorities and operators of critical infrastructures—as well as components for electronic signatures and tamper-proof archiving, has acquired POS Solutions (“POS”), the Austrian specialist for digital onboarding, online identification, and electronic signatures. The merger strengthens Procilon’s product and knowledge leadership in the field of identity verification. The acquisition of POS marks the first transaction under Procilon’s buy-and-build strategy, supported by Main Capital Partners.

POS offers solutions for digital onboarding, online identification, and electronic signatures. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Braunau am Inn, Austria, the company employs around 16 people across its locations in Braunau am Inn (Austria) and Zug (Switzerland). POS serves a diverse customer base, including banks, insurance companies, telecommunications providers, and industrial enterprises in the DACH region. Its solutions comply with international regulations such as eIDAS, ensuring legal certainty and minimizing fraud risks. The company currently serves over 150 customers.

The combination of POS and Procilon expands the joint product portfolio in identity verification and strengthens geographic presence in the DACH region—Procilon is primarily active in Germany and Switzerland, while POS holds a strong market position in Austria. POS’s established market presence and loyal customer base in Austria provide complementary geographic coverage and new customer segments for Procilon. This strategic combination solidifies Procilon’s position as a leading provider of “Digital Trust” solutions in the DACH region. The integration enhances Procilon’s product portfolio, creates attractive cross-selling opportunities, and fosters customer loyalty through a unified and comprehensive service offering.

Bernt Vossebein and Markus Mayrhofer, Co-CEOs of POS, comment:
"Joining the Procilon GROUP gives us the opportunity to contribute our expertise in secure and innovative trust services and expand the joint portfolio. Our Austrian customers will particularly benefit from this. In addition, the acquisition strengthens our sales channels in Germany and Europe."

Dirk Czepluch, CEO of Procilon, emphasizes:
"Austria is an important growth market for us—it opens up new opportunities within the DACH region. At the same time, the expanded product portfolio gives us additional momentum to further strengthen our position as a provider of identity verification solutions. The acquisition of POS is a significant milestone that we approach with anticipation and openness to new ideas and innovations."

Sven van Berge Henegouwen, Managing Partner at Main Capital Partners, summarizes:
"With the acquisition of POS Solutions, Procilon strategically strengthens its market position in identity verification. The combination of technological expertise and regional presence creates new impulses for innovation and growth in the DACH region. We are pleased to support Procilon in implementing its buy-and-build strategy and see the integration of POS as an important step toward expanding the portfolio and unlocking new customer segments."
