The goal of the initiative is to establish and expand an open, vendor-independent IT infrastructure for public administration.
Berlin / Leipzig, July 31, 2026 – Procilon, one of Europe's leading providers across the entire Trust Lifecycle, has joined the Initiative for Interoperable Administrative Services. With solutions for secure communication, electronic signatures, digital identities, and trusted data exchange, Procilon serves as the backbone of numerous digitalization processes in both the private and public sectors.
At yesterday's kick-off event hosted by the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and State Modernization (BMDS) and DATABUND e.V. at the Federal Press Conference Center in Berlin, Dirk Czepluch, CEO of Procilon, signed the company's declaration of accession. The initiative aims to strengthen cooperation between policymakers, public administrations, and Germany's mid-sized IT industry.
A Strong Alliance for Efficient Public Sector Digitalization
The newly established initiative is designed as an open platform for knowledge exchange, technical interoperability, and practical collaboration among GovTech stakeholders. Its objective is to reduce the current fragmentation of the IT landscape and establish true interoperability through binding, open standards.
By joining the initiative, participating companies commit to gradually aligning their specialized software solutions with the core components and open standards of the so-called "Germany Stack". These include:
- Standardized Interfaces and Data Formats: Mandatory open APIs to reduce integration efforts.
- Secure Digital Identities and Wallet Solutions: Adoption of mechanisms compliant with the eIDAS Regulation.
- Established Data Exchange Interfaces: Integration of federal solutions such as NOOTS and FIT-Connect.
- Process and Status Information: End-to-end transparency throughout the delivery of public services.
- Responsible Use of AI: Controlled integration of transparent, open, and reusable AI components.
- Collaboration with FIT-SB: Cooperation with the Federal IT Standardization Board to coordinate standards across administrative levels.
